1984 Book
I undertook the project of redesigning the classic novel "1984" by George Orwell. This included creating a new book cover, title page, and chapter break pages, along with laying out the complete text of the novel. The illustrations were crafted using Adobe Illustrator, while the assembly of the book and the arrangement of its text were executed in Adobe InDesign. My design objective was to encapsulate the novel's themes accurately through my visual interpretations.
"1984" chronicles the story of Winston Smith, the protagonist, as he navigates his conflict with the oppressive government regime and its omnipresent surveillance entity, Big Brother. The novel is imbued with themes of totalitarianism and control, which I highlighted by using red and dark colors in my design. Additionally, my intention was for the theme of control to be visually communicated through an illustration that captures the sense of paranoia experienced by the protagonist.
